I learned something yesterday from my good friend Voddie Baucham. He was discussing the way that people during the New Testament would reference what we now call the Old Testament. Since they did not have chapters and verses, they would say the first few lines. So Jesus, while hanging on the cross says, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Psalm 22 is titled My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Jesus calls attention to this Psalm as he dies. Why would he do that? Find a Bible and read for yourself keeping in mind Jesus' circumstances.
